Third Street Public Meeting (Traffic Calming and Street Enhancements)

In May, the Harbor Springs City Council directed staff to explore potential traffic calming and street enhancement options for Third Street. The City contracted with Dan Burden of Blue Zones to provide traffic calming designs for certain intersections on Third Street. The City also asked Ben Veling, an arborist with Timberwolf Tree Care, to assess potential tree planting locations on Third Street.

The City has received input and plans from these experts and now would like to share their professional opinions with Third Street residents. We have scheduled an informational public meeting with neighbors and interested residents in order to explore our options for improving pedestrian circulation, street enhancement and traffic calming on Third Street. This meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday, October 15 @ 5:00 PM at City Hall. Our hope is to walk away from this meeting with a plan to implement some or many of the suggested improvements.
