Citizen Participation Application

The City of Harbor Springs encourages all citizens to participate in local government.  The involvement of  citizens in the political process is an essential part of democracy. Citizen involvement increases government  transparency,  allows for additional perspectives, and addresses business owner and property owners shared/opposed view points needed for the development of sound municipal policies.  The City of Harbor  Springs  has a Planning Commission, Zoning Board of Appeals,  Harbor Commission, Downtown Development Authority, and a Tree Advisory Board.  You may apply to serve on more than one board if desired by filling out the below Citizen Participation Application.  Please submit your Citizen Participation Application at the City of Harbor Springs, 160 Zoll, Harbor Springs, MI 49740.

**  City of Harbor Springs Available Employment Positions  **

Full Time Lineman or Apprentice – The City of Harbor Springs Electric Department is seeking a certified Lineman (or an applicant to be trained to become a Lineman).  Requirements include possession (or prompt attainment of) a class (B) CDL with Airbrake endorsement, residence within 20 miles of the City limits (within 90 days of hire), satisfactory results from pre-employment (and DOT) physical, drug screen and background check to the City’s satisfaction.Training and competitive benefits are provided.

Wage range from $17.38 to $33.21 depending on previous technical training and work experience.

Electric Line Worker Notice of Employment

The Harbor Springs Area Fire Authority (HSAFA) –  is currently looking for motivated men and women  who are interested in joining our family of volunteer firefighters.  The HSAFA proudly provides fire services to the Little Traverse Township, West Traverse Township, Pleastantview Township, and the City of Harbor Springs.
