In May of this year the City of Harbor Springs adopted Ordinance No. 415, which permits the rental of residential properties on a short term basis (30 days or less). The City has instituted a licensing process to provide structure and guidance so that short term rental can grow in a way that blends with Harbor Springs cherished values.
The yearly license fee is $250 and due each year by February 1. For this year, licenses must be in place by August 1 and after that date, fines can be levied to unlicensed properties.
