Power Restoration Update: 4/6 @ 9:45 PM

Posted on April 6th, 2025

Update: The last major clusters were turned on today (including Menonaqua) and dozens of individual services were restored. All issues with our primary lines were fixed. We just have a handful of customers without power. We have released mutual aid and we will start the work week tomorrow calmer on the electric side of things.

Because there are so few customers without power, this will be the last regular update on the status of power restoration for the City of Harbor Springs electric grid. However, we have not forgotten about our remaining customers without power and will be working to restore your service. Going forward, if you have an outage, please contact the electric department or city hall: https://www.cityofharborsprings.com/government/staff-directory/

Thank you for being patient with us as we worked to restore our grid and service to you. There are many people to thank, including our police department, fire department, DPW, and of course our fantastic electric crew and mutual aid crews from downstate who toiled tirelessly to restore our power. We also can’t forget the dozens of volunteers that helped the community in many different ways.

There is still a lot of clean up to do. Over the next few weeks, DPW will be removing tree debris from the city right away and parks will be cleaning up our parks. For those with contractors cleaning up their yards, the county has provided resources for disposing of tree debris. https://www.emmetcounty.org/news_detail_T13_R150.php

Have a good night and we’ll see you tomorrow.
