Power Restoration Update: 4/3 @ 10:15 PM
Update: The main line from M119 west of State Street to Thorne Swift is now energized. However, individual taps are not yet live. Restoration of this line was a lengthy task, so our crews will have to work on energizing the taps in the coming days. We’ve also seen power come on in Windward and neighborhoods and streets shooting off of Lake Street in the west side of the City. An updated map will be available in the morning.
With mutual aid, we have 17 linemen working on the entire grid. We cannot tackle everywhere at once, and our Electric Supervisor and Electric Engineer are strategizing on how to best use crews to get power on to the most amount of people safely and correctly. Some specific outages can take a few guys several hours, and sometimes we have to do things in a particular order (such as where there may not be as many customers) before we can tackle other areas with higher population concentration.
We are hoping for good news that more mutual aid may come this weekend. Fingers crossed because additional crews will expedite our work!
