Verifying If Your Home Has Power
Many people who are away from their homes have been asking us if there’s a way to verify if they have electricity or not. Unfortunately, there is no way to verify unless someone physically goes and inspects the house to determine whether or not there is electricity. At this point, we do not have the resources to visit each house individually because we are working on the main lines and secondary lines.
One thing we have included in our capital improvements plan is advanced metering infrastructure. This would allow us to examine from a computer whether or not each house has electricity without physically going to the home to verify. That does not help us in the current situation, but it is why we have included it in our capital improvements plan.
So for now, if you could contact a friend or neighbor to verify, you could then pass along that information to the city so we know if you have power at your house. If not, then we can put you on the list for repairs.
