Harbor Springs Solar Project RFP
(Submissions Due: Friday, December 4, 2020)

The City of Harbor Springs, located in northern Michigan, services electricity to over 3,600 residential, commercial and industrial customers. On March 16, 2020, the City Council adopted a renewable energy goal of 30% by 2025. To help it achieve this goal, the City is seeking to retrofit its municipal buildings with solar panels. The City is thus soliciting proposals from a qualified Contractor/Vendor to provide and install rooftop solar panels on three municipal buildings in early spring of 2021. The goal is to maximize the number of solar panels on the buildings’ roofs, while not compromising the integrity of the roofs, in order to cover the buildings’ annual electric usage while also generating excess electricity that can be pumped back into the City’s grid to be sold to City customers.
