DDA Streetscape Project Plan Information and Dates
The DDA is working on a Streetscape Project Plan and has set up a calendar for collecting public input. Please note the schedule below and plan to attend as you are able and inclined. The DDA is set to complete the Streetscape Project Plan this summer, using as many opportunities to collect input from all segments of Downtown users as possible. Implementation of the plan should begin in 2026, likely with infrastructure portions such as irrigation, electrical work, and sidewalk replacement. Depending on projected costs and available funding, the project will likely be done in phases and take a number of years to complete. Now is the time to suggest ideas for amenities or upgrades you would like to see preserved, changed, or added. The schedule for the plan development is below.
April 1 is the Kick Off—Plan to visit City Hall to view the Project Area Plan Boards that are displayed in the lobby. Use sticky notes to record your thoughts. The sticky notes will be collected daily in order to encourage spontaneity and creativity.
May 1 (on or about)—Watch for a link to a separate website devoted to project updates to be provided.
May 13, DDA Board meeting—City planners, Beckett & Raeder, will present a Concept Plan Review which will include information collected from the Project Area Plan Boards. As always, the public is welcome.
May 27, Community Open House at City Hall, 4 to 7 pm—The open house venue will give people the opportunity to drop in at their convenience and talk directly with the planners and DDA Board members to ask questions and comment on the current concept of the plan.
June 1, Community Survey Begins—An online survey is being developed that will allow people to express opinions on specific questions. Watch for more information.
June 10, DDA Board meeting—Beckett & Raeder will present a Project Status Update to the Board. The public is welcome.
July 8, DDA Board Meeting—Beckett & Raeder will present a review of the Public Input Survey to the Board. Again, the public is welcome.
July 30, Second Community Open House at City Hall, 4 to 7 pm—This Preferred Plan Showcase will be the last time for the public to comment before the plan is completed.
