Spring 2025 Brush and Leaf Pick Up (Ice Storm Tree Debris)
The following is the schedule for the City’s leaf and brush pick-up for the 2025 spring season:
Dates: April 14 – May 28
Pickup Includes: Storm debris, leaves, and yard waste
Instructions: – All materials must be placed at curbside, not in the street.
– Leaves and yard waste, including flowers, plants, grass, etc. should not be placed in plastic bags.
– Each type of material (leaves, and yard waste) must be placed in separate piles.
Limits on Brush Pick-Up Storm Debris
- Brush may not exceed 9” in diameter
- Tree removals are not part of Storm Debris and will not be picked up. Tree service or contractor will need to remove materials.
The City WILL NOT pick up brush in the following situations:
- Where the resident/property owner has hired a commercial service to trim trees or bushes or clear brush. The service provider will be responsible for removal.
- When trees or bushes or brush are cleared to facilitate a construction project for the resident/property owner, in which case the resident/property owner or contractor will be responsible for removal.
- When the brush pile exceeds the equivalent of one pick-up truck full. The DPW Director will notify the resident or property owner if it is determined that he/she is responsible for removal.
Summer brush pickup will begin June 19, 2025 and is scheduled for the 3rd Tuesday of the month through September 2025.
We cannot accept brush at Kiwanis Park or any other City location. Brush is accepted at the Emmet County drop-off center located at 7363 Pleasantview Road.
