NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

TO AMEND THE TAX INCREMENT FINANCING PLAN

FOR THE DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY

The City Council of the City of Harbor Springs will hold a Public Hearing during their regular City Council Meeting at 7:00 p.m., on Monday, July 16, 2018 to receive public comments on the proposed amendment of the Tax Increment Financing (“TIF”) Plan to raise funds through the capture of property tax growth in the Downtown Development Authority (“DDA”) district to pay the costs for the administration of the DDA and to fund DDA Projects.

 The TIF will be in effect through the 2022 tax year. The DDA Plan and the proposed TIF plan amendment are available on the City’s website; www.cityofharborsprings.com or at City Hall.

 All persons wishing to comment on the proposed amendment to the TIF plan may do so by:

  1.  Giving oral comments during the public hearing held in the City Council Chambers of City Hall, 160 Zoll Street, Harbor Springs, MI 49740;
  2. Providing written comments through the U. S. Mail by sending them to the City Manager, City of Harbor Springs, P.O. Box 678, Harbor Springs, MI 49740-0678; or,
  3. Providing written comments to the City Manager by email at citymanager@cityofharborsprings.com

NOTICE OF MAYORAL AND CITY COUNCIL ELECTION

The electorate of the City of Harbor Springs shall elect one (1) Mayor and two (2) City Councilpersons for two (2) year terms at the November 6, 2018 General Election.  To be considered as a candidate for either the Mayor or a City Council position, a petition shall be circulated by the candidate or members of his/her committee.  A minimum of twenty-five (25) valid signatures are needed and must be submitted to the City Clerk no later than 12:00 pm on August 7, 2018.  Each candidate must be qualified to run for office.  Refer to Chapters 3 and 4 of the City Charter for more information.  Should there be any individuals interested in candidacy please contact the City Clerk at (231) 526-2104 to obtain petition and filing forms.

Any person interested in any of the matter set forth in any and all such Public Hearing in the City of Harbor Springs may be present at said hearing to voice an opinion.
